Brand & Marketing Strategy

Organic Social Media

Email Marketing

Off-Licence needed a distinctive digital presence that reflected its bold, unfiltered approach to culture, conversation, and music. The challenge was to move beyond the typical blog format and create a visually striking, interactive platform that felt modern, immersive, and editorially driven.

The brand required a strong visual identity that aligned with its urban, streetwise aesthetic—something that felt fresh, disruptive, and engaging while maintaining an intuitive user experience. The website needed to seamlessly integrate written content, multimedia storytelling, and interactive features, allowing users to navigate effortlessly between articles, debates, playlists, and community discussions.

More than just a place for content, Off-Licence aimed to become a cultural hub, sparking conversation, amplifying underrepresented voices, and bringing audiences together around shared interests. The platform had to be designed for engagement, encouraging readers to interact, return, and feel part of an evolving digital space that grows with them.

THE

WORK

Off-Licence required a high-impact digital presence that positioned it as a movement within urban culture. The brand needed a distinct identity that stood out in the digital space and fostered engagement. We built a conversion-focused, editorial-style website with a structured content hierarchy that supports intuitive navigation and prolonged user interaction. The black, red, and white palette was strategically chosen to reinforce brand recall and emotional connection, reflecting the energy of city nightlife. Through bold typography, immersive imagery, and a responsive layout, the platform was designed to drive engagement, encourage content exploration, and create a dynamic storytelling environment.

To increase audience retention, we incorporated engagement-driven features that turn passive visitors into active participants. Interactive elements, such as commenting, rating systems, and embedded music playlists, were integrated to build a community-driven platform. A multi-layered call-to-action strategy, with prompts like "Take Me There" and "Subscribe for More," was placed at critical touchpoints to drive deeper user involvement. Social sharing functionality extends Off-Licence’s reach beyond its own ecosystem, transforming readers into brand advocates. The logo design, built for instant recognition, was created in multiple responsive formats, allowing for consistent application across social media, digital branding, and merchandise. Every touchpoint was crafted to align the brand’s visual language with its marketing objectives, driving sustained engagement and long-term audience loyalty.

TYPOGRAPHY & DESIGN APPROACH

A strong, impactful typographic logo was chosen to reinforce the brand’s editorial feel, ensuring it aligns with the magazine-style structure of the website. The lettering is sharp, modern, and intentionally assertive, reflecting the platform’s unfiltered and outspoken personality.

COLOUR & VERSATILITY

The black, red, and white colour scheme gives the logo a high-contrast, high-impact presence, making it stand out across digital and print applications. A monochrome version provides additional flexibility, allowing it to be used across different backgrounds without losing clarity. The logo variations include stacked, horizontal, icon-only, and wordmark versions, allowing for seamless integration across the website, social media, and promotional materials.

CULTURAL RELEVANCE

The design speaks directly to Off-Licence’s audience—those who engage with urban culture, music, and debate. It carries the same grit, energy, and boldness as the conversations happening on the platform. Whether used on the homepage, within editorial layouts, or as a branding mark on social media, the logo reinforces Off-Licence as a platform that isn't afraid to stand out, challenge norms, and drive real conversations.

BRAND RECOGNITION

The logo was designed to be instantly recognisable, adaptable, and aligned with the brand’s bold, urban identity. Its strong typographic style reinforces brand recall, ensuring it stands out in a crowded digital space while maintaining a confident, outspoken presence.

The high-contrast black, red, and white palette enhances visibility across social media, website elements, and promotional materials, increasing engagement and shareability. With multiple variations—including stacked, horizontal, icon-only, and monochrome versions—the logo seamlessly integrates across all platforms, keeping the brand identity consistent.

The Off-Licence website was designed as a bold, magazine-style platform that captures urban culture, conversation, and music. The layout balances strong editorial typography, impactful visuals, and structured content hierarchy to create an immersive experience.

A black, red, and white colour scheme reinforces the brand’s identity, reflecting the energy of city nightlife and underground music scenes. Category headers such as Playlists, Wellbeing, Debates, and Relations guide users, while dedicated sections like "Latest News" and "Latest in Culture" keep fresh content highly visible, encouraging repeat visits.

Beyond aesthetics, the website was built with user interaction at its core. Features such as comment sections, rating systems, and shareable playlists make Off-Licence a community-driven space that sparks engagement.

Clear call-to-action buttons like "Take Me There" and "Subscribe for More" encourage deeper interaction, while the responsive design adapts across all devices. By combining high-impact visuals with a structured and intuitive user journey, the Off-Licence website creates a digital experience that keeps visitors engaged and actively participating.
